Blueberry has completed a consultation project for Healthcare at Home to convert its paper-based registration system to a web-based system.
Healthcare at Home (HAH) is the UK's leading provider of high-tech home healthcare and speciality pharmacy services. In addition, they also deliver an increasing number of innovative clinical services on site throughout the NHS and independent healthcare sector.
HAH's patients have traditionally registered with them using a paper-form-based system, which has resulted in a proliferation of different forms being used, and a system which made it difficult to detect errors. These errors included missing or incorrect data entered onto the forms.
Blueberry was asked to analyse the requirements to convert the paper based system to a web based system, with emphasis on adding error checking and data validation wherever possible and automating any notifications to users.
Blueberry approached the investigation by interviewing the main stakeholders within HAH to ascertain the complete requirements of the system across its spectrum of operations.
Several iterations of requirements and work flow were examined before final agreement was reached. A document was then written, which presented the requirements for the system in sufficient detail to allow the formal software development process to start.
