When you open a PDF document in PDF Forms Filler (via menu "File / Open"), the program automatically detects all of the rectangular areas inside the document. The program then inserts text boxes inside these detected rectangles, so that the user can use them as text fields. The program also has a manual mode of detecting fillable areas inside of PDF documents. To enable this mode, click the "Look For Controls Under Mouse" button in the toolbar. The program will display blue transparent squares under the mouse pointer that could possibly be converted to a text field - just move the mouse around the document to see how it works. To create a new text box for areas showing a blue transparent rectangle, simply click the left mouse button. The area can then be filled with text. You can then continue with further selections of rectangular areas. PDF Forms Filler also supports manual addition of text fields. To manually add text boxes, uncheck "Options \ Lock All Controls" menu item and then click "Add Box" in the toolbar. A new text box will appear. Users can move this box wherever it is needed. The PDF Forms Filler additionally supports check boxes. When the auto-detection algorithm finds a small square it adds a checkbox. Click it to check/uncheck. It is possible to use the same PDF file many times with different texts - for example if the same form needs to be filled in repeatedly for many people. When you re-open the form, simply click "Edit \ Clear All Text" to empty the text fields and type in new data. |
